STRESSED? BURNT OUT? Two glands to point out: PItuitary and Pineal!

The pituitary gland is the master gland of the endocrine system. It oversees the challenging job of controlling hormones. Estrogen, cortisol, ghrelin or melatonin are just a few examples of hormones needed to maintain a state of homeostasis. They work full-time on a good day but life is hectic, sending hormones into a regular frenzy for most people. Ignoring signs of long-term stress may have you hanging by a thread. Sometime it takes “hitting the wall” to finally address issues. Being in tune with yourself allows you the privilege of taking charge of your health as symptoms appear.

Symptoms:

  • Pain in upper neck
  • Edema (water retention)
  • Water pooling under eyes (excess puffiness)
  • Frequent headaches or migraines

There is also another important small walnut shaped gland called the pineal gland. It’s responsible for secreting melatonin (the hormone regulating when we wake and sleep) into the third eye.

Crown Chakra is linked to understanding and being open minded. Living in a state of self-knowing makes life simpler. It’s about clarity and finding passion. Finding one’s passion is possible! Once we let go of pre-programming, we are free to experience life in the moment. Programming? I’m referring to what we are told and shown from birth. These things filling our daily space. Fear, jealousy and rules set by society can pull us away from our true passion.

Crown Chakra struggles with rejection and needs to let go! At times we loss our way, lacking drive to live with purpose. In balance, we are at peace and in tune with our selves. Intuition is strong!

What can you do everyday to help find balance andrealign?

Fluoride blocks the gland. Switch to natural and fluoride free toothpaste.

Chlorine disrupts hormones. Avoid tap water! Shower after swimming or hitting the hot tub. Invest in a water filter for kitchen and bathroom if possible.

Move computer, cell phones or any appliance from your sleeping area.

Add orange essential oil for support to bath oils and body lotions. It’s linked to the pituitary gland.

Fasting is very beneficial for healing crown Chakra, especially long term fasting it can bringg enlightenment. Fasting is NOT a first step. It’s too much too soon and a great future goal. Crown Chakra is purple. I find this a fascinating fact. When deep in eyes closed full relaxation and mediation mode, it’s not uncommon to see gorgeous purple swirls….hmmmmm…..

 

STRESS must be addressed! Take time to relax and focus. Make a vision board. Place your board in a high traffic area. Staring at it reinforces goals. Meditation and healing affirmations target this Chakra. Take time daily to incorporate this ancient practice.
