Everyday is garlic day at our house. My mini man is truly “king of garlic”.
This month is BIG! September started with school, Jewish holidays and mini’s favorite season! I’m not referring to Autumn! I’m talking about GARLIC or Allium Sativum.
Garlic harvesting is ending while fall planting is in full swing. Ontario is known for hard and soft neck garlic. Garlic belongs to Alliaceae family which includes shallots, leeks and onions! ALL DELISH!
Garlic!!! What comes to mind? Everyone has a favorite dish with garlic! What’s yours? Die hard garlic fans will remember a scene in GOOD FELLAS! My son is still convinced our garlic press needs to be replaced by a straight razor!!
Garlic is used around the world for so many reasons. Calling Garlic a fabulous flavor booster is a given!
Garlic is a timeless herbal remedy that may help with many ailments! Garlic produces a chemical called allicin. Allicin is responsible for garlic’s magical properties! Unfortunately, allicin is also responsible for your bad breath!
Garlic is universal and multi-purpose. It can be used internally and externally depending on the concern.
Garlic contains various vitamins and minerals!

Garlic works to improve different systems in the body through its unique properties!
Garlic is a blood cleaner and thinner.
Garlic lovers get their sweat on! Sweating helps eliminate toxins.

Jazz up any meal with Garlic!
- Sauté vegetables in it
- Use making hummus
- On pasta with olive oil
- Garlic bread
- Roasted whole
- Add to quinoa/ couscous /millet etc
The number of ways to incorporate garlic is endless.
I am always on the go! Prep is key for me! I boost whole foods such as beans and rice with Indian black salt and coconut sap! It is made from sap of the flower not the flesh of the coconut! It’s a combination of just the right amount of GARLIC and sea salt! It’s soy/gluten free, low in sodium and contains aminos! This awesome flavor has a unique almost balsamic taste without even a hint of coconut! It’s the perfect salad dressing, too!
Garlic is in tons of fabulous healthy marinades, sauces and snacks on the go!! Keep your eyes open!
Imagination is key! My absolute favorite garlic infused dish is by mom! Garlic is roasted and then pureed with steamed cauliflower! Modern mashed potatoes!
